Polestar has just taken its position as one of the leading Tesla alternatives to a whole new level. On Tuesday, they unveiled their 2024 Polestar 2 sedan, which boasts an even greater range, supreme performance, and sleek design- all making it more competitive than ever against Tesla’s sought-after Model 3.
Polestar ‘s New Engine Pack Offers a Huge Edge
The latest iteration of the Polestar 2 has been revamped with an improved battery pack that can travel up to a whopping 300 miles on one charge for its single-motor, rear-wheel version. The dual motor all-wheel drive model is no slouch either, boasting 270 miles of range – a 10-mile upgrade from earlier models. Plus, users will now be able to experience even faster charging speeds at 205 kilowatts.
Boasting an impressive 299 horsepower and a 0-60 mph sprint of 5.9 seconds, the new single-motor Polestar 2 is significantly more powerful than its predecessor. Even better, the all-wheel drive version produces an incredible 421 horsepower and 546 lb-ft torque for breakneck acceleration to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds!
Polestar Also Pleases with Technologies that Increase the Driving Experience
The Polestar 2 now comes with driver-aiding technology, like blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera as standard features. By doing this, Polestar is looking to capture potential buyers from Tesla’s technologically advanced cars equipped with Autopilot capabilities – an obvious choice for the company moving forward.
Polestar hasn’t disclosed its pricing yet, but it’s expected that the Polestar 2 will start just above its current rate of $48,400. However, one significant benefit for the Tesla Model 3 is that it qualifies for a federal EV tax credit of $7,500, which is unavailable to Polstar 2 since production occurs in China instead of North America.
