Although we have found several alternatives for electricity generation, the technology to replace natural gas used in home heating is not yet clear. Still, the best candidate seems to be acoustic heat pumps, but their cost, efficiency, and limited lifetime continue to stand in the way.
Acoustic Heat Pumps Will Be Better, Quieter, and More Durable
The acoustic heat pump operates on the principle of sound wave resonance and compression in a gas-filled chamber. The wavelengths overlap, causing an increase in temperature at certain points while others experience cooling, creating ideal conditions for heating and cooling your home with air.
Europe is planting the seeds for a revolutionary energy source, with only two companies pioneering this technology: Dutch Blue Heart Energy and French Equium. Though they use this technology differently, both share the same goal of providing an efficient alternative to heat pumps; Blue Heart Energy estimates that their product will cost half as much, while Equium claims that their acoustic heat pumps will reach 30 years of service life and higher efficiency.
Quieter than Conventional Heat Pump
You may worry that the noise level is too loud, but these companies promise that acoustic heat pumps will be quieter than a typical heat pump due to their insulation. Blue Heart Energy even assures us that by utilizing mutual sound waves, any sounds coming from the pump are reduced and won’t reach our ears.
Through the use of Helium, both companies reap an array of rewards from various sources, such as Photovoltaic Thermal (PVTs) systems that capture heat behind solar panels, soil, water, and central heating with a temperature set at 20°C. Additionally, it is capable of converting high-temperature heat from radiators to low-level warmth beneath parquet floors. It’s nothing short of remarkable!
Last but not least, these acoustic heat pumps can also be used for cooling when necessary. This is particularly important in countries that require a reliable air conditioning system to get through the summer months!
